Swine Flu Propaganda Charades and Corporate Media Manipulations to ContinueBill Lindner
August 03, 2009
Dr. Richard Besser, the
Center for Disease Control (CDC) director who has served as the mouthpiece for
the Swine Flu Outbreak has reportedly
been hired by ABC News as a senior medical reporter
-- the latest example of a prominent government propaganda pusher
becoming a prominent corporately-owned media enabler -- whose megaphone will
most likely be focused on pushing fear under the guise of an extremely
suspicious Swine Flu Pandemic.
We've covered the problems with how the Swine Flu outbreak began, how dangerous the vaccines will be and how various government agencies and beings intentionally created the Swine Flu outbreak for massive corporate profits and a couple of other red flags, but we haven't covered much of how the corporately-owned media enables and furthers the various elicit agendas of the U.S. Government. Besser is the current 'czar' that heads the CDC's Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response where he overlooks the CDC's public health emergency and emergency response activities. Besser will join ABC in September. As noted by Prison Planet, Besser is essentially the government's leading propagandist when it comes to the so-called Swine Flu Pandemic and his move to ABC further embellishes the already overtly cosy relationship the Obama administration is enjoying with ABC. Last month ABC completely turned its news coverage over to the government -- minus any dissenting opinions -- in order to promote President Obama's health care agenda. A lesson on how corporately-owned media handles the truth and covers up pertinent facts can be found below. General Electric's Censorship of MSNBC and NBC One example of how corporately-owned media influences things and makes sure the public is -- for all intents and purposes -- left in the dark can be found in this recent article by Glenn Greenwald from Salon News. General Electric (GE) used its control of NBC and MSNBC to make sure there would be no more reporting of Fox News' business activities and the lies spread by Bill O'Reilly and the rest of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. by hushing the star of one of MSNBC's most popular shows. The CEOs of GE, which owns MSNBC, and News Corporation, which owns Fox News, held a meeting and reportedly agreed that the dispute between MSNBC and Fox was bad for their interests and agreed to order their employees to stop attacking each other's news organizations and employees. The agreement was reached because both parties agreed that the ongoing feud was hurting unrelated corporate interests of both GE and News Corp. It's no secret that News Corp.'s Fox News is nothing more than one major political propaganda machine that spent the first eight years of this century pushing the Bush cabal's agenda and purposely misinforming the American public. One Fox News commentator even admitted that Fox News was President Bush's channel. The only thing that has changed is that Fox News now does everything it can to try and derail all the plans of President Obama's administration by spreading lies and propaganda. Keith Olbermann garnered a huge following and great ratings for his Countdown show by bashing the lies and fallacies of Fox News 'journalist' Bill O'Reilly. Olbermann's attacks on O'Reilly and Murdoch slowed drastically since June 1, 2009. They've slowed, but they haven't stopped completely. O'Reilly has spewed his filth and lies on Fox News for years while making millions each year for pushing them. Owners of Large News Organizations Have Extensive Relations with the Feds As noted by Mr. Greenwald, here we have yet another example -- probably the most glaring example yet -- of how the corporations that own our largest media outlets control and censor the content of their news organizations based on the unrelated interests of the parent corporation. Now GE is using its control of NBC and MSNBC to try and make sure there is no more reporting of its activities by Fox News in exchange for MSNBC and NBC censoring all the lies spewed forth by Fox News. Censorship in any form by large corporations is highly disturbing and needs to be recognized for what it is. Of course, this corporately controlled censorship has been happening for years. Last year, Jessica Yellin, admitted on CNN, the cozen news network, that the press corps was under enormous pressure from corporate executives to make sure the Iraq war was presented in a way that was consistent with the patriotic fever in the nation and to put on positive stories about the President -- Bush at that time -- or they would turn the stories down and not publish them. Katie Couric has admitted that there was a lot of pressure not to rock the boat for a variety of reasons, primarily corporately-related -- and not to be too critical of the Bush administration. When once highly regarded journalists rock the boat, they always end up being fired or demoted, or, as in the case of Phil Donahue, cancelled. This censorship is what has resulted in America being in the corrupted situations it's in today. As noted by Mr. Greenwald, the corporations that own our largest news organizations have extensive relationships with the federal government. Passing off Propaganda Pushers as Analysts is a Major Conflict of Interest Another favorite activity of corporately-owned media is to pass off propaganda pushers as analysts, as will be the case of Dr. Richard Besser and ABC News. MSNBC does it all the time. Richard Wolffe is an 'MSNBC political analyst' that is often asked to comment on political news. Wolffe is an 'analyst' that works for Public Strategies, Inc. Wolffe works in Washington where he advises several clients on developing strategies for managing corporate reputation and uncertainty. Making matters worse is that fact that these 'analysts' usually don't identify themselves as being paid to push propaganda for the firms that pay them, resulting in major conflicts of interest. The U.S. government is famous for using propaganda pushers to peddle their one-sided lies. Many of the news outlets have used 'military analysts' for years to push covert propaganda and shape public opinion. Despite the Government Accountability Office's (GAO) ruling that some 75 retired military officers the govenment and the Pentagon used to push the lies leading to the illegal occupation of Iraq was not covert propaganda, it was. The only reason the GAO made that ruling is because the Pentagon allegedly didn't pay the pundits for their favorable commentary or conceal the program from the public. That's not entirely true. The GAO ignored well-documented evidence to the contrary. Some of the 'analysts' admitted that the Pentagon access and information they received was as good as gold and many of the 'analysts' are lobbyists, executives or consultants for military contractors who have made a fortune off the illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. More on the military pundits and the GAO's delusional revelations can be found in this article from Counter Punch. Source:
