MSM And Glucosamine Sulfate
Having been "into"
nutritional supplements, vitamins and minerals for quite a few years I sometimes
forget that many people don't know that there are natural ways to cure pain...
and that many of those natural cures can be bought right over the
counter.
A good example of this happened
last week at work. A woman I work with had been complaining about shoulder
pain in her left shoulder. She said that the pain was also in the muscles
in her upper arm (above her elbow) near her shoulder.
When I asked her if she wanted an
(over the counter) Ibuprofen or a tylenol she said no. She said that Ibuprofen
and tylenol didn't do anything for the pain anymore. She also told me that
she was going to make an appointment to see her doctor.
She had been in a rather
short-tempered mood that day. I figured something was wrong, but didn't know
what at the time. When I asked her if she got enough sleep the night before she
said no and that the pain in her shoulder was keeping her up at
night.
I got to thinking and said to myself, "Why not!." I went to my
bag of supplements ( I take them with me everywhere ) and pulled out a bottle of MSM with
Glucosamine Sulfate.
The concentration of each capsule was as follows:
MSM (methylsulphonylmethane) 500mg
Glucosamine Sulfate: 500mg
I gave her six capsules. I told her to take two immediately,
take the second two before she went to bed and then take the last two in the morning
when she got up.
I asked her to let me know if it
helped her.
About three hours later the
curiosity was killing me so I asked her how her shoulder was doing. She
held up her arm and said, "There's no pain!" Fantastic!
Ya know, I realize that I'm no
doctor. And whether or not she makes that appointment with that doctor of hers
is entirely up to her.
However, I'd be willing to bet you
a cool hundred dollar bill that when and if she goes to see her doctor, and
after he examines her, he will immediately go to his pharmaceutical drug
book and perscribe her some kind of perscription pain killer which might take
the pain away but will do NOTHING to address the CAUSE of the pain.
One thing that this person told me
was that she thought that the doctor might give her a cortisone shot to take the
pain away.
Here's some nice information about
cortisone shots:
"Can I get a cortisone injection more than once?
Yes. There is
no rule as to how many cortisone injections
can be given. Often physicians do not want to give more than three, but there is not really a
specific limit to the number of shots. However, there are some practical
limitations. If a cortisone injection wears off quickly or does not help the
problem, then repeating it may not be worthwhile. Also,
animal studies have shown effects of weakening of tendons and softening of
cartilage with cortisone injections. Repeated cortisone injections multiply
these effects and increase the risk of potential problems. This is the
reason many physicians limit the number of injections they offer to a
patient."

Nice, eh? What's even better is when you think about the fact that while the cortisone shot
kills the pain it does nothing to SOLVE the problem of WHY there
is pain in that area of the body in the first place!
What's nice about MSM (methylsulphonylmethane) and Glucosamine
Sulfate is that these are natural substances which do not harm the
body if taken as directed.
So, the next time your joints hurt
think about MSM and Glucosamine. Those might be the help you are looking
for.
And yes, I have MSM and
Glucosamine on my website at:

Stay well,
